Zainab's story
LLB Law student, Zainab Girach, credits Ð԰ɵç̨’s block teaching for enabling her to balance her career while studying at the same time.
Currently in her second year, Zainab is also working as a paralegal at a local solicitors – thanks to the simple timetable of block teaching.
“I decided to complete my LLB Law degree at Ð԰ɵç̨ mainly due to the newly introduced block style method of teaching in addition to its friendly and supportive atmosphere.
“I was pleased with this method of teaching as it means that my timetable is compressed into two or three days of the week at the most. A lot of the preparation can be done at home and I believe this hybrid approach appeals to a wide range of individuals and is considerate to those that commute.”
Zainab is enjoying the block structure, including having assessments at the end of each module, rather than lots of exams at the end of the year.
“The assessment is completed on week seven, at the end of the block, which I have found useful as the exam is completed straight after teaching ends. Completing modules in blocks has improved my understanding, retention of knowledge and my overall grade for each module.
“I work five days at the firm alongside completing my undergraduate degree, something which would not be possible without block teaching. I am incredibly grateful to Ð԰ɵç̨ for supporting me on my journey to qualifying as a solicitor and acknowledge that block teaching has helped me to balance a career in Law whilst studying.”
