Ð԰ɵç̨ wins renewed national recognition for supporting researchers

Ð԰ɵç̨ has been successful in retaining its HR Excellence in Research Award at the four-year external review point.

The award, given out by the European Commission, recognises the ways a university supports researchers throughout their careers, and how well it implements the

Research HR

It ensures that concrete steps have been put in place by institutions to enhance working conditions for researchers and recognises those institutions which are demonstrating a long-term commitment to the career development of its researchers, as well as setting out the principles for good working conditions for them.

The UK approach includes ongoing national evaluation and benchmarking.

Ð԰ɵç̨ was awarded its HR Excellence in Research Award in 2019, which was then renewed in 2021. Now, four years after first receiving the award, the university has once again had it renewed.

Professor Mike Kagioglou, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Research and Business Innovation, said: “This is a sign of research quality that guarantees our commitment to the career development of researchers.

“The renewal is a signal of the importance of supporting our research staff long term and bodes very well for the future of research at Ð԰ɵç̨.

“I am delighted to congratulate everyone involved in this successful application.”
